Mama Hadda Be The Man

yeah this for the ones who hadda grow up too fast rest in peace pops mama i got you my dad wasn't there so my mama hadda be the man taught me how to fight with my words and my hands taught me how to pray, how to hustle, how to stand held it all down, did it all without a plan she ain't cry when them bills came late she just wiped them tears off, fixed her face and prayed put food on the stove, made nothin from scraps turned pain into strength, never fold, never cracked i was just a kid, heart heavy, couldn't speak lookin at the sky, talkin to him every week "why you leave pops?why you gone so soon?" now i carry your name like a soldier in the room my dad wasn't there so my mama hadda be the man steppin in the shoes he left, pain heavy in the land she was workin overtime, cooking without a pan taught me how to shoot for the stars,no jam she was real, never fake, she was steel, never broke turned all the pain into power, all the hurt she would take now I'm walkin thru the city, looking for a sign cuz my dad wasn't there so my mama hadda be the man no silver spoons just spoons we carved no daddy in the house just dreams we chased he in heaven lookin down sayin "hold that weigh" now I'm chasing my dreams, built from pain mama showed me how to aim,how to load that pain turn it into fire when i step into the game she a Hustler but she fight like a knight in the dark taught me how to spark when they tear you apart ain't no fear in my chest, got her blood in my veins all that trauma made a savage that you cant even tame you ain't never seen love till it carried a house when a woman did a mans job without running her mouth now i walk with pride, every step that i take got his name in my soul and her strength in my face i ain't broken, I'm molded from struggle and flame and i thank both of yall for making me this way.
