Desires

All the devotees expect from their worshipped deities to fulfill their desires. Which can only be so much. Because our mind is created to be limited. God is ready to give you the entire creation and you sit in front of your prayer place asking for some material? Don’t you look dumb. I worship deities as well. The Hindu ones. Through Hindu religious scriptures, pictures and idols. Including the Shivlingam. Which according to Hinduism is considered to be the no form Lord Shiva himself. Let’s make this short. If God appeared in front of you and said ask for a boon. You know for sure you will mess up. Eh goon? Because according to the Hindu religious scripture the Ramcharitmanas. When Lord Brahma asked demon Ravan and his two younger brothers kumbhakarna and Vibhishan. To ask for a boon for meditating straight hundred years. Demon Ravan wanted to be immortal. Though Lord Brahma said even he himself is not immortal. Ask for something else. Ravan being super smart said only species that can kill him are monkeys and humans. That is why Lord Ram incarnated into a human form. And took the help of the monkey army to defeat the demon Ravan. Demon Kumbhakarna was going to ask that he shall only sleep for one day and stay awake the rest of the 6 months. In India the calendar was in use even over 10 thousand years back. Goddess Saraswati sat on the tongue of the demon Kumbhakarna and he asked to sleep for six months and stay awake for only one day. “So be it” Lord Brahma said.
