American Made

You don't know me, but I write between the lines If you had a vision you could see with my eyes Shining bright like a diamond, I'm reaching to the sky Looking at crowd on fire and we're all getting high I remember when I was just a kid with a dream Living in a world that was never what it seemed I had nothing to my name but a dream and hope Now I'm on the stage and I'm bigger than the Pope. If you look real close, there's 2 guys on my shoulders They keep me real, that's what I told her If you shine once, do it for the rest Don't let anyone take you from the best I've been blessed with a gift, and I use it with pride To inspire others to lean to the right. From nothing to something, that's my story to tell And I'm grateful for the journey, the highs and the hell I'd like to give a shout out to the ones who mean the most You're like a prayer being answered everyday on the coast Watching the sunrise I'm an eagle in flight Now I see the Son from way up in the skies Everyday is a struggle, but I keep pushing I'm running outa time, but I'm never losing I'm American made, a southern king Look at me now, wishing you were me Now I'm living in a world of lights and applause But it wasn't always easy, it wasn't without flaws I faced the critics, the doubters, and the strife But I kept pushing forward, defining my life Yo, I step into the mic, let the truth unfurl, Painting pictures with words 'bout the fall of the world. In a society that's crumbling, lost its way, No redemption in sight, just shades of gray. I see the youth on the corner, feeling hopeless, Dreams shattered, they're caught up in the focus. Media telling lies, they twist and they turn, Manipulating minds, got the masses concerned. Everyday is a struggle, but I keep pushing I'm running outa time, but I'm never losing I'm American made, a southern king Look at me now, wishing you were me They say money talks, but it's all about greed, The powerful play games, leaving others to bleed. Politicians preaching, but they're only after power, Promises made, but they fade by the hour. The system's broken, it's corrupted, it's rigged, Inequality's the anthem, the people feel the dig. The rich get richer, while the poor stay oppressed, In this twisted world, where's the justice? I'm distressed. Everyday is a struggle, but I keep pushing I'm running outa time, but I'm never losing I'm American made, a southern king Look at me now, wishing you were me Look around, see the children lost in despair, No guidance, no direction, it's a cross they bear. Growing up in a world filled with hate, No love, no compassion, just sealing their fate. Education's failing, it's a broken machine, No nurturing of minds, just a factory routine. But I refuse to stand by and watch them fall, Gonna be their beacon of hope, answer their call. Everyday is a struggle, but I keep pushing I'm running outa time, but I'm never losing I'm American made, a southern king Look at me now, wishing you were me
