Focused on someone else's green grass, they never have to mow, flowers always perfect when you pass, and lamps always light up the home, you ditch your dirty yard for the neighbors that looks nicer, but the flowers don't change or have that smell you love so much and they were hiding a snake a viper, and when you lay in the yard the grass is uncomfortable and you wish you would've known, the grass is superficial that's why it's never overgrown, you realize it's plastic like the flowers, the last man seemed happy but was so alone he left lights on for hours, always smiling but if you would've asked he'd say he hides it well, always wishing he fixed the broken doorbell and people usually only care about what they see he calls it show and never tell, so he focused on appearances like the yard and like his grass people were green with envy, while theirs and your gardens and yards would wilt from lack of tending, you'd get mad at the flowers because his always looked better, mad at the dying grass you never cared to water upset it didn't flourish on its own so you chose another
