An eye for an eye Christ referred to this principle in a sermon on the mountain, calling on his followers to turn the other cheek instead throughout the ages human society have strive to come up with a moral code for its people in institutions, an eye for an eye sounds like a simple solution it's goal means to deliver Justice after all what's fair is fair but some believe that the old laws leaves everyone blind ,so the question is, can we apply this approach in today's society, is it effective or does it even work, many people believe that an eye for an eye comes from the Bible where it appears a number of times but it dates back even further than that, the Babylonian King Hammurabi who ruled Mesopotamia over 400 years ago used and eye for an eye as part of Hammurabi's code a set of laws put in place so that the strong might not injure the week and the Romans used it to in their law of retaliation. we see it in holy books like the Hebrew Bible the New testament and in the Quran. across history it was sometime interpreted literally and sometimes interpreted as metaphor, anyway everyone was aiming to determined a fair punishment a fair portion to the crime, now let's consider the concept of a bully, someone who takes advantage of others, should an eye for an eye apply here, should he or she suffered the way his victim had suffered, what if he lea exrned that the bully became this way because he had been bullied him self, maybe from the time he was a little kid
