It's too cold in the empty abyss of your eyes Its as if the Devil just licked at my spine The wire's been stripped, there's a glitch in my mind My wings have been clipped at the tips, I can't fly I'm losing my grip, and my wits I can't find I can't flip the script, I'm confused as to why I'm not quick to admit that the clues might be right Truth drips from my lips as I sift through the lies I spin and I twist and I slip and I slide And rip out the pins that you stick in my spine I stumble and trip, tumble into a wide Pit filled with sticks and I think I'm alright Till I shift half an inch and each one starts to writhe I'm not quite equipped with what I need to survive I'm surrounded by snakes in a deep lake of fire all the while I'm drowning, faking a smile The sound of you wakes me, I ache with desire A sight so breathtaking, I break down and sigh I'm patiently waiting, you're taking your time When I fell from Grace I surrendered my pride Before you can demand I submit, I oblige I'm bound by your words, surreal and sublime
