This is a poem I wrote for my friend who passed away 6 years ago. I'm a little emotional but I hope you guys like it anyway Before 6 years ago today, yellow was just a color; one of the three primaries and one of six in a rainbow. Just an ordinary, everyday, very common color. A color that may remind you of the sun and of happiness, of energy and of light, of peace and of unity, prosperity, trust and worthiness, honor and dependability, of truthfulness and loyalty, of caring and of healing, of strength and of friendship. After 6 years ago today, yellow is no longer "just a color", yellow now reminds me of a girl. A girl with blonde hair, a girl with a smile that could completely diminish the darkness in any room she set foot it, a girl always positive, always smiling, always happy, a girl who fits every description noted above that was shared with the color yellow and more, a girl named Katie. Not only was the color yellow her favorite, in many ways, she is the color yellow. She was the beacon of hope, the light at the end of the tunnel. She was there during your remarkable days, but also at your worst. Her positive energy could lift an unbearable weight off your shoulders and make it almost completely vanish. She had a special effect on people; she could make all of your pain, all of your sorrow, all of your worries shrink into nothing all with just one genuine smile In Loving Memory of Katie N. May 30, 1996 - August 1, 2013 I love and miss you Katie. May you Rest In Peace
