This song is all true. It tells the fates of 4 of my people that I've lost over the years. It's about looking back and reminiscing on the times we had before mistakes were made and folks ruined themselves and relationships with drugs and crime. I hope this song reminds you of those people you've lost and hopefully brings back fond memories and maybe even some painful ones. Lyrics Below... Damn them were the days Chilling with my homies, sipping on a couple 40's, yeah you know we had that O.E and a little weed for rolling, put on a couple beats and then we get to flowing like. Damn them were the days When we lived for the moment, thick as thieves never folding, lies never to be spoken, bonds never to be broken, cruising round these streets blowing smoke til morning light Damn them were the days Just like yesterday, another page turned Memories from the past and so many lessons learned It's the path we all take, and some of the bridges burned Some of us got smart and some never found a cure But we were just kids man we never had a clue How precious time was and how fast that it flew Too busy chasing tail and staying out with the crew Back when folks were still solid and stuck together like some glue Nobody had shifted and nobody switched sides Hit the Wareham 500 and fishbowl'd the ride Break stands on the bogs and let the dirt fly Chilling out in Onset on the 4th of july The days before my homies gone lost all their pride The days before the heroin and most of yall died Before the funerals seeing all ya moms cry Bringing flowers to ya house knowing you ain't inside Or taken away, consequences of your crimes Excuses that you used for staying on your grind Now when we share cups I gotta lift it to the sky Feeling like Jada kiss, sitting here asking why Damn them were the days Chilling with my homies, sipping on a couple 40's, yeah you know we had that O.E and a little weed for rolling, put on a couple beats and then we get to flowing like. Damn them were the days When we lived for the moment, thick as thieves never folding, lies never to be spoken, bonds never to be broken, cruising round these streets blowing smoke til morning light Damn them were the days One more time going into the fray I remember the days when we all used to hang We were cool with some weed Promised to never touch the cain It's seems some of us tend to forget what we say 13 years old, the first of my friends got murked Your pictures in the frame, R.I.P Devin Murph I remember when Crouse hung up his bloody shirt When we go to your grave we leave a Newport on the dirt Damn man this time flies like a bird And 22 years went by like a blur The loss of you had us twisted like a perm But the memory of you in our hearts remains firm Theres so many brothers that were taken too soon Reminiscing on the days when we shared the same jewels Chilling in Shady Acres playing ball with the crew EJ was still alive til that train came through Kids lost dad and mom mellisa was on the tracks too Still remember where I was when I got the bad news Mama said you win or lose by the way that you choose But that don't change the way that your homies still missing you Damn them were the days Chilling with my homies, sipping on a couple 40's, yeah you know we had that O.E and a little weed for rolling, put on a couple beats and then we get to flowing like. Damn them were the days When we lived for the moment, thick as thieves never folding, lies never to be spoken, bonds never to be broken, cruising round these streets blowing smoke til morning light Damn them were the days Pour out a little liquor for my bestfriend Nate Got jumped by some fools and made his skull break Still fought them off, took a pool cue to the brain Doc's hooked him on them perks and he was never the same You lived on my couch while we worked for ya father Taught me to be a Mason and kept eachother from the drama But them drugs took ahold as you started drifting farther You gone robbed that store and the cops came and got ya You got out of jail and before ya boy ever saw ya I was on the jobsite when I heard you was a gonner They say time away makes the heart grow fonder You were always true to me and that's the reason why I love ya Damn man i really wish that you could see me now Brother youd be proud of the way I'm getting down Rearviews playing tricks, thought I saw you round town But then I turn around and your nowhere to be found Rest In Peace King, hope you got yourself a crown I know you'd say I'm talking kinda soft right now That's ok I've accepted every tear that hits the ground Just save me a seat next to you in them clouds Damn them were the days Chilling with my homies, sipping on a couple 40's, yeah you know we had that O.E and a little weed for rolling, put on a couple beats and then we get to flowing like. Damn them were the days When we lived for the moment, thick as thieves never folding, lies never to be spoken, bonds never to be broken, cruising round these streets blowing smoke til morning light Damn them were the days #realtalk #rip #real rap #realmusic #memories #rapfame_official #newartist #newrap #follow #Kick-Knowledge #listen #realvibes #vibes
