issëdëlic- where the palm trees shiver
Jody Issel (Issedelic)Amidst a realm where palm trees shiver, Encased in ice, their fronds do quiver, A paradox of frost and flame, A frozen tropical wasteland, nameless in its claim. The sun, a distant, mocking fire, Shines upon this cold empire, Where sands once warm and beaches bright, Lie dormant 'neath a blanket white. Aloha spirits, trapped in chill, The vibrant life now still, Mangoes, coconuts, and passion fruit, All silenced, no birds to dispute. The ocean's waves, once danced with zeal, Now motionless, as if to kneel Before the might of this icy siege, A crystal tomb, vast and besieged. The warmth that kissed the coral reefs, Is but a memory, faint and brief, While frost clings to the bamboo's back, A testament to nature's crack. This bizarre spectacle, out of place, A once lush paradise encased, In winter's unforgiving hold, A story of climate's change, untold. Yet, beneath the surface, life endures, A testament to nature's lures, For even in the most extreme, Life holds on, a hidden dream. In this frozen tropical wasteland, rare, Beauty sleeps with a silent prayer, For thawing tides to once again, Restore the balance, heal the pain
