I can see the reflection change in the mirror as I turn my face to the side The image gets clearer Lines showing signs... almost as if to Remind me where I was and were I've bin Then I close my eyes and hear children's laughter Open my eyes and looking back at me is my own fatther This is our story... it wasn't always easy No easy peast lemon squeeze You had it hard I get that now As my little man is growing and soon I'll be a dad to and I'm damn proud Soon my own family my own little crew Then I'll know what I put you through pops You worked hard day and night Got injured on Sasol and Babcock sites Almost lost you more than twice But your story ain't over that's why God saved your life. It was kinda hard you working away But I distinctly remember you coming home on my 10th birthday As I walked in my room.. I saw a soldiers set and you said Its gonna blow me away Proud, joyess tears in a father's eyes Do you remember me camping in your army tent till around midnight When you snuck around to give me a fright. That was the pink house. A street back from the driving site Do you remember that night... I do The strongest man I've ever known Nowa days we only talk on the phone I get it thats what grown ups do But I'll always miss you when I'm not at home I always keep you in the back of my mind When I was down and u stood strong There was always a will to find You always picked me up I was never left behind But still it takes me back when mom did what she did. I know we ain't talking about it But I think. We should.. I admit I know it wasn't pretty no war is But the truth is The thought of a whole family I miss But I get it, You did what needed to be done And that's why every one thinks I'm a only son You wasn't alone, driving all the way from the see to grandma's home Met you in the drive way as you huged me and then the tears started to flow. Our home was a broken home But dad you stood your own It did effect us in the long run And for a long time we was on our own I'm sorry dad for the shit I put you through But you made me a man so I'm thankful to Biker boys forever with alot of guts Forever Tinki and Jay Always rebel and rats I hope this song reaches you well And I always miss you on the road Be safe where you travel and know Mickie needs you home That's why that day in Polokwane Hour for hour when I heard you hit a car My toppie Sapa yoba always dangerous But in God's prayer there is power That's why God gave you that little flower The little miracle you needed I never knew I needed one to Now I'm a sober dad to be And come march I can't wait to show him to you. And you know what the family don't get it But they don't need to You did what you did. Don't ever regret it You raised me up strict it took hard lessons But I'm grateful. There I said it Ima be damn proud when I tell my boy about you All the stuff we bin through how I always looked up to you And some words left unsaid Looking back now we can say we dit it A million pictures shows the Journey We've bin init I've bin getting older looking in the mirror Its only the start nothings yet told not finished I know the legacy will stay strong The roots you planted will last long And the Generations will know you through my songs Im Sitting outside alone when you came home gave me food and something warm to wear One thing your kids will know Is you'll always be there I've only started my journey as a dad Trying to imagine that little kid makes me glad Ima tell him al the dreams we've had It took a while but I took flight Now I now dad what's wrong and what's right So ima leave this song here for you tonight
