Monetised Justice When justice becomes a commodity, A tool for profit and economy, Freedom is at risk of corruption, With manipulation and perversion. Criminal law was meant to be blind, The shield against the unjust mind, Protecting the innocent from harm, And holding the guilty by the arm. But when justice must be paid for, And the cost of freedom becomes a chore, Monetary interests take the lead, And the guilty often go freed. The wealthy can afford legal battles, The poor are left to grind in shackles, A system designed to favour the rich, While leaving the marginalized in a ditch. Justice should never be for sale, Or the innocent would be doomed to fail, The scales of justice must remain true, Or the freedom of all is at stake too. Let us break these chains of greed, And protect the justice we all need, For a society ruled by honest law, Is a society that stands in awe.
