Icarus and his dad are trapped They had to learn to adapt To their surroundings And the sound of their hearts pounding Candle wax and feather pillows Those could be their heroes His father said Don’t fly to close to the sun Even if it sounds fun Icarus you will fall You are so young and small Far far to young to die Used the melted wax to stick the feathers Together to add more pressure They kneeled down on the tho keep them firm in place So that they could escape without a trace His father said Don’t fly to close to the sun Even if it sounds fun Icarus you will fall You are so young and small Far far to young to die Strapped the winged to their backs Icarus and his dad squeezed between the racks His father leaped into the air Then Icarus jumped so that the pair We’re both flying in the sky Icarus was a bit of a dumb guy His father said Don’t fly to close to the sun Even if it sounds fun Icarus you will fall You are so young and small far far to young to die He moved upwards above the canopy of trees His hair blowing in the breeze The glare of the sun shone on him And Icarus was on the brim Of falling to his death as the wax was melting Icarus was really really testing His luck but he had no care That soon there would be no flying pair His father said Don’t fly to close to the sun Even if it sounds fun Icarus you will fall You are so young and small Far far to young to die Icarus began to plummet Like water coming out of a bucket He drew closer and closer to the ground He landed in a river and supposedly drowned His father said Don’t fly to close to the sun Even if it sounds fun Icarus you will fall You are so young and small Far far to young to die His father got back home Eating a snack of honey comb It struck him that Icarus must be lost Or that the Icarus had payed a terrible cost For not listening to his daddy when he had to He needed to do that no matter what else he wanted to do Icarus had died
