The more that I tried to open my eyes The want for a better life came clear to me in my mind The more that I pushed The day came that I didn't question why Jus felt Misunderstood Never really knew what life was til I had to live for myself Growing up life was a struggle, self-medicated with drugs to escape this hell and all of the trouble. But everything changes in a moment Gotta keep that faith higher than ever and I'ma never feel hopeless. Day after day my mind gets flooded with past memories The second it all goes to hell I ask for you to remember me I'm reaching out for help, please don't bring me down I'm tryna find the man who I truly am, where can he be found? Don't turn me away, let me in, open up and soon you will see I'm someone to trust Jus keep me outta that same old shit I'm used to, involving them drugs instead show me how to gain self-love, The lifestyle brings nothing but harm and bad karma, Always running the streets, looking over my shoulder, felt like I was invincible, made of nothing but pure armor.. I pray to God day in and day out asking for Him to watch over me and be my guide At the end I close each prayer with an Amen. And I don't ever question His ways... I just choose to follow His path til the end of my days.. You never know what may come out of making a change Battling addiction, it's stressful in so many ways, the need for that next fix goes away and it gets better and better each an every day 🙏... I made the decision for myself to accept my flaws and to change them into the strength that I need in order to let myself be sober and escape the misery. Sobered up now, looking good. Future looking bright, and it's visibly clear that, Great things are yet to come but I stay humble and know in an instant addiction can take hold on me again and ik it would.... Just gotta stay faithful in recovery and not be afraid to ask for help, open up and let honesty with the Lord replace this Hell.... Written by yours truly, myself Brenden
